Turul is a supporting character in Prince of Persia: The Graphic Novel.
Biography[]
Turul lived as a peacock in the palace in the 9th century Marv. When Guiv left the city to seek the veiled prophet in the citadel, Turul followed him and revealed its true self to him. Turul tried to tell Guiv that he will not make it to the Palace, but Prince Guiv didn't want to hear and pushed on despite the lion attack and a rockslide. When a boar attack left Guiv seriously injured, Turul carried Guiv to the citadel. Turul also brought the killed lion to the citadel for food. Turul kept Guiv company until he lit the prophet's fire. Turul said the fire is a hazard to it and flew away. As it left some feathers fell into the fire and projected a prophecy of a boy who would be born on a certain day and kill the leaders of Marv.[1]
During the 13th century, when the time came for the prophecy to fulfill itself, Turul appeared for Ferdos, the prophecysed Prince. Turul at first followed Ferdos, but when needed it directed him to right alleyways so that he meet captured Shirin and Nuri. After Ferdos was about to be killed by a guard, Turul grabbed the guards and flew away with them.[1]
