Scythian Swordsman[1] (also known as Dark Guard[1]) are a common enemy in The Two Thrones.

Official Description

Scythian Swordsmen make up the bulk of the Vizier's forces. Classically trained foot soldiers, they have met aside their more primitive spears and hammers in favor of stronger, Indian-forged broadswords. Swordsmen are also huge, towering several inches, and sometimes over a foot above their Persian counterparts. The rough and rugged lifestyle of living on the plains has ensured that Scythian fighters are strong and incredibly quick--- a deadly combination.[1]

Swordmen, however, are unable to cope with city life. They are accustomed to wide-open spaces, hunting beneath the skies filled with stars. The confines of Babylon have weakened their senses, and they are easily overwhelmed and confused within the twisting streets and back alleys of the city. The remaining Babylonian defenders have used this "home advantage" to the best of their abilities, but there are simply too many Scythians, and they're too strong. The poor people of Babylon won't be able to resist for much longer.[1]

When The Vizier absorbs the Sands of Time, the swordsmen are transformed into sand-monster versions of themselves. These creatures are known as dark guards. They come from both the Ram and Hyena houses. It should be noted that Hyena swordsmen are considerably harder to defeat, owing to their increased stamina.[1]

Biography

These hardened warriors where once men of Scythia, and have now become loyal minions of the Vizier, they make up the largest part of his army. After Kaileena is killed, and the Sands of Time are unleashed upon the city of Babylon, these soldiers turn into even more dangerous Sand Creatures. They appear as large, well armed men, with ram motif curved-horned helmets and large swords.

Gameplay

Scythian Swordsmen often appear, and attack, in pairs, and are also sometimes accompanied by Sand Archers. Though strong when fought against toe-to-toe, they aren't too smart, can be defeated easily, and are also susceptible to the Prince's Speed Kills and left-hand combos. They also appear with Sand Gate Guards, protecting Sand Gates.
