He is a fat guard who first appears as a boss enemy in level 9 and is encountered as a normal enemy in some later levels.
SNES version[]
In the SNES Version, the Politician is the boss of level 9 and has 8 health points. The Politician is a very fast swordsman and is very skilled at blocking counterattacks. In level 19's boss gauntlet in the Throne room, the Politician is summoned by Jaffar after the first three boss enemies are defeated. After the Politician is defeated, the final opponent of the gauntlet, the Knight is summoned.

- The Politician is the only unique enemy other than Jaffar in most versions of Prince of Persia.
- The Japanese user manual of the game's PC98 version claims that while his true identity is unknown, he is popular and well-liked as well as called by various nicknames such as "Fatty", "Butcher", and "Hachon Demon King". There are various theories that he is a bloodthirsty butcher of the royal palace or just a kitchen chief.[3]
