Neith is a character in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
Biography[]
Only daughter to a teaching mother and a diplomat father, Neith was born the youngest to a family of five. Together with her older brothers and parents, she was living a rather sheltered and privileged life within the Kushite Empire.
Just until fighting with the neighboring Persian Kingdom broke out at least.
Following a loss in the mentioned battles and the partial occupation of the region by Persian forces, Neith's father was requested to join their new ruler in the far away capital of Persepolis. With that, the entire family moved north into new and unknown lands.
Despite their earlier expectations however, the family was treated no different from other Persian citizens and could return to the settled life they were used to from home.
Whereas later, both her brothers decided against a career in the military, Neith was eager to join and make a name for herself.
She was by far the best recruit they had at the academy since Vahram, who himself was so impressed by her abilities, that he had no other choice but to request her to join the Immortals.[1]
Neith was present when Sargon came to challenge the White Lion. She told to guards to stand down once Sargon released his Athra, as she knew he could defeat them with ease. Though Sargon lost the battle against Vahram, he was invited to join the Immortals.
The Lost Crown[]
Neith along with the other Immortals defends Persia from the Kushan army. After the battle, she joins the Immortals on the rooftop where she briefly speaks to Sargon and congratulates him on his victory against General Uvishka. Moments later, Radjen alerts the Immortals that Prince Ghassan had been kidnapped, and Sargon is sent ahead to find him. She is present when Sargon reports that the kidnapper was Anahita, and pursues her to Mount Qaf at the Queen's orders.
When the Immortals reach Mount Qaf, they marvel at what they see. Neith in particular is genuinely baffled by the sight of a collapsing statue frozen in time. Once they enter the Citadel proper, they find the bodies of Ardashir's men already decomposed, despite having reached Mount Qaf only a day after them. The palace gates then automatically close, trapping them all inside the Citadel. Vahram commands them to split up and find Anahita and Ghassan. Sargon later finds Anahita, but the way ahead is blocked by a temporal anomaly he cannot reach or destroy. Neith advises him to seek out Menolias in the Hyrcanian Forest, as his archery skills are the only way forward.
Neith is present with the rest of the Immortals when Vahram tells them that Sargon killed Ghassan and ran away with Anahita. She is unconvinced, but the conversation is quickly shifted to the future of Persia with the heir dead. Radjen suggests that Vahram seize the throne, to which Neith asks about Thomyris. Menolias, however, believes Persia would be better off with a new leader and swears fealty to Vahram. When Orod asks about Sargon, Vahram tells the Immortals to stop him and Anahita by any means necessary. Despite Neith's misgivings, the Immortals present agree with Vahram's plan and go to hunt them down.
Sargon later encounters Neith in the Depths, where he ended up after Vahram threw him from the Upper City. While she is initially forceful, she relents once it becomes clear that Sargon is telling her the truth. She tells him what Vahram told the other Immortals - though she reassures him that Artaban still believes in him. She warns him to keep moving, as she can sense Radjen coming after them.
She later meets Sargon in the Night portion of the Upper City, after Sargon has acquired the Key of Kings from the Tower of Silence. She expresses concern for his physical and mental state, with him having gained so much of the Simurgh's powers, and asks him to discard those powers. Sargon refuses, however, as they are his only hope of stopping Vahram. Afterwards, she and Artaban escort Ghassan to the Palace Gate, where Vahram is currently attempting to claim the Heart of the Simurgh. She encourages Sargon when he expresses doubt, and they share what might be a final farewell.
During his final battle with Vahram, Sargon would draw on the words and lessons of Neith and the other Immortals to defeat him once and for all.
In the aftermath, she returns to Persepolis with the other survivors. Before Sargon leaves the city, she promises to look after the young Vahram they brought home from Mount Qaf.
Mask of Darkness DLC[]
Neith arrives at the Wak Wak Tree in the Haven at the beginning of the DLC. She tells Sargon she spotted Radjen in the Lower Citadel, and asks him to join her in hunting the assassin down. When they meet up at Radjen's hiding place, she suggests killing Radjen, but Sargon is determined to try reasoning with her first.
Once in Radjen's hiding place, they find a Simurgh feather. Sargon goes to claim it, but it becomes readily apparent that it is a trap. He finds himself in a strange shadow world, stripped of most of his powers and items while reliving the battle against the Kushans. After defeating an Undead Uvishka, "Neith^ appears and is revealed to be Radjen, who has trapped Sargon in her mind palace.
After navigating through the Palace and seeing Radjen's memories, Sargon finally confronts the assassin and manages to defeat her. However, she is able to land a devastating blow. Before she can finish him off, the real Neith stabs her with her spear, killing her. She then helps Sargon back to the Haven, where he's able to rest and recover. Though she regrets killing Radjen, she doesn't regret saving Sargon, and he thanks her for her aid.

Trivia[]
- Neith's name appears to be derived from that of the goddess Neith, an Egyptian deity possibly of Libyan origin associated with warfare, hunting and motherhood. Most notably, one of the goddess' most prominent symbols is a shield with two bows crossed over it, and Neith herself also uses a shield in combat, while the spear is one of the oldest hunting weapons. The goddess is also depicted with a red crown, which may have inspired Neith's red hair.
