  • Hello,

I wanted to get another admin’s opinion of a beef that I have been having here. Recently, I purchased an official strategy guide for Prince of Persia WW, and I noticed that the book was full of errors. On page 22 & 23, it has a goof up of pictures, and the picture of Raider falls under the description of Keeper, and the description of Keeper falls under the description of Raider (does that make sense? ;)). The description is fine, but the pictures fall under the wrong name.

The proof is on page 27, under “The Bowels of the Ship” it lists the real Raiders as Raiders. On page 74 it lists the real Keepers’ as Keepers’.

The information that is in the description on page 22&23 for those characters are correct. (because it matches up later in the guide, pg74 heavy armor for Keepers') On the wiki, the information is completely jumbled and mixed up. I have tried to fix the pages, and Lily Ford and I have had a large debate over this and now I am currently blocked from editing those pages. I hope you have a guide for WW, so you can see what I see.

I do not try to cause problems, but I just figured we want our information as accurate as possible, should people turn to the wiki to get the right information. Lily Ford’s argumentative motives are contradicting, and not as clear as they appear.

    Our debate: http://princeofpersia.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:7695

    • Apaosa
If this is the Apaosa Axe, then its defiantly used by the Keepers frequently in the Mechanical Tower/Catacombs.

I have gone ahead and changed this as the Keeper’s default weapon. I hope that is not an issue.

  • Hey, Jay, the recent update to the Navigation Bar across Wikia has kinda created a problem where the first half of the transparent Prince of Persia Wiki logo blends in just a little too well with the background now.

Do you think we revamp and change the color of the logo and background or take advantage of the image background element they've implemented recently?

      Loading editor
    • I guess the best course of action would be to try and revamp the logo. Admittingly, my photoshop skills has slipped but I'll see what I can do later today.

        Loading editor
    • The most I did with the original logo was invert the colors (using GIMP), but I'm definitely interested in seeing what you come up with.

        Loading editor
    • So upon closer look, it seems you can change the color of the "Header". And that's what I did instead. Should I still look into creating a revamped logo?

        Loading editor
    • I actually think this looks great (it definitely works the color scheme a lot better than the dark red), but I'd love to see your take on the wiki logo if you want to pursue that as well.

  • Hi, Jay Aaerow

Thank you very much for your reply in my message wall !! I would like to continue that conversation if it's not a problem for you, because I think it could be very interesting and funny! For this reason I would ask you where I can write to continue that conversation (maybe here or somewhere else, I don't know :D ).

Thank you again, See you soon !!!

  • Hi, Jay Aaerow!

Someone recently nominated the Prince of Persia wiki for inclusion in our gaming footers. Please let me know if you are interested!

    Best regards,

    Raylan

  • Hey, Jay:

I was wondering if you got your hands on the Prince of Persia reboot's strategy guide? I keep trying to, but every time I order it, sellers keep saying they're out of stock or sold it someone else :(. This place still needs work (especially with regard to the original POP), but the one area that's probably in need of expansion via canon details, it's the reboot sections of the website.

  • So, about those game guides I mentioned in my response to your "More Updating"/ Yeah, we've basically gotta find more PoP savvy contributors, walkthrough providers and PoP fans that own strategy guides, because I managed to find a single page preview for the Forgotten Sands enemies in the console/PC edition of the game, and there is a lot that needs to be corrected with official information.

"Titans" are "Trolls", "Sand Skeletons" are "Wraiths", etc. "Sand Birds" (from SOT) are "Vultures" just like they're named in The Forgotten Sands, so on and so forth.

    • I honestly can believe there are a lot of things wrong on this Wiki. I caught and corrected most of the names for the enemies in the Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones on account of the Google Book preview for the game guide and the official "Enemies" trailer.

The Prince of Persia fandom, even when it was at its height of activity, wasn't exactly on the up-and-up on official names and the like. Oddly enough, this was something I assumed the Gaming sites (like IGN and the like) would be up on, but nope, most of them reviewed or reported information on the game without so much as a bit of dedication to the names or anything involved in the game when it was the Prince, Farah, and etc. I've only recently purchased the books for Sands of Time, Warrior Within, The Two Trhones and the 2008 Prince of Perisa, so whatever else is incorrect on this Wikia will eventually get sorted out between the two of us.

      As for the Enemies Template

I didn't delete it. Going back through the history will basically just bring it back up before I replaced it with the general "Enemies" template I made.

I was thinking out of all the templates made, the enemies just needed one while the categories below would sort them out. The thinking behind this was that, given that the Sands of Time Trilogy has more than one enemy besides the Sand Army and the Sand Creatures, the terminology can't be restricted solely to what's being described in The Forgotten Sands.

Mhm! Yep hopefully, we can get on top of this and sort this out soon. Though you seem to be doing most of the work because I'm either too tired or have something to do behind this account! XD Plus, I've made Soul Eater Wikia top priority. Though I think this wikia needs more help.

Concerning the Enemies Template, I see where you're coming from. But that's why I had a template specific for Forgotten Sands enemies since that's the only game with the strategy guide that specify some of the things. :P That's also why it's has color to it. So you can differentiated visually. I used whatever colors I thought fit Forgotten Sands. Though that's hard since POP has common colors. But you said it clashes with the wikia's background so I'll keep that in mind when making infoboxes!

  • Hello there Jay, I'm Shrev from the inFamous Wiki and the Sly Cooper Wiki. I noticed your request on Red's wall a few weeks ago, and was wondering if you were still interested in affiliating with the InFamous Wiki. If so, we would be glad to become affiliated with you.

Also, I would like to ask if you are interested in affiliating with the Sly Cooper Wiki. You could say that the iF and SC Wikis are sisters, as they were both made by the same developer, and Sly Cooper is a stealth-heavy game, an aspect that seems to be present in PoP. If you are also interested in this, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    • Yes. I'm still very well interested in being affiliated. Thank you for replying. I'm interested in both Afilliating with the Sly Cooper and Infamous Wikias. And I can see where you're coming from. Stealth is an element present in the Prince of Persia the Two Thrones game. :)

    • Swell, glad to hear. I'll upload both wikis' wordmarks to this wiki shortly.

Also, I recently got the PoP HD trilogy for PS3, but I was playing The Sands of Time before being sidetracked by Watch Dogs...hopefully I'll be able to resume to the series shortly.

  • Got any ideas of who we should court for affiliation? The first two wikia that come to mind are the Assassin's Creed and Beyond Good & Evil Wiki's.

      Loading editor
    • Yes. I'm going for the Assassins Creed Wikia. I'm basically looking at all the video-game wikias. Especially the major ones! I'm also doing the DMC, Final Fantasy, Rayman, Splinter Cell, etc. Basically any video games and especially those from Ubisoft too!

        Loading editor
    • Sorry to intrude on this conversation, especially so late, but another suggestion for affiliation would be the Watch_Dogs wiki, considering it's from Ubisoft and has high traffic right now due to its recent release.

        Loading editor
    • No, yeah, that's definitely a good idea. Thank you for the suggestion.

        Loading editor
    • Oh now that's a good idea. Thanks! I'll probably get right on that.
