Maryem Tollar is an Egyptian-born Canadian-based musician who lives in Toronto.[1] She is the singer of the band Mernie!.[1]
Biography[]
Tollar is practiced musician and has been performing for well over a decade, performing classical and traditional Arabic music and original compositions. She was born in Egypt and raised in Canada.[1] She traveled frequently to the Middle East. Her album Cairo to Toronto was nominated for a 2009 Juno Award in the world music category.
The Sands of Time Trilogy[]
Tollar collaborated with Stuart Chatwood in 2003 to produce the theme for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, "Time Only Knows", which she performed alongside vocalist Cindy Gomez.[2] In 2005, she was primary vocalist for theme of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, "I Still Love You", composed by Chatwood and Inon Zur.[3]
