As a human being, the Maharajah was not born with superhuman or magical abilities. The first noted abilities he gained were when he traveled to the Island of Time and used the power of the Mask of the Wraith to change his fate after he was killed by a enemy on the Island of Time.

Similarly, the Maharajah was not born with any special abilities or superhuman strength. From what is known about the strength and abilities of the Sand Wraith, the Maharajah likely did not gain any abilities related to the absorption of the Sands of Time if he fought Sand Creatures before killing his assailant near the Hourglass of Time.
