Jailer is a character in the canon of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
Biography[]
Behnâm was the royal scribe of Persia in Mount Qaf during Darius rule. Behnâm received a young apprentice, Goudarz, who happened to find an ancient tome in the library, which caught Behnâm's eye. Behnâm wanted to decipher the tome himself.[1]
Behnâm became obsessed with The Book of Bottomless Knowledge, distracting him for any other task. Despite the name of the tome, the book contained thousands of vacant pages.[2]
Reading the tome took a toll on Behnâm, and Goudarz notices that he was in the brink of insanity. Behnâm invited scholars from distant lands to touch the tome of knowledge, which then robbed them of the knowledge and transferred it to the tome.[3]
Behnâm was so engrossed in the book that he didn't eat anymore and lost his sight by reading it constantly. It was then Goudarz stole the Book of Bottomless Knowledge and hid it in the labyrinthine library.[4]
Behnâm became the guardian of knowledge, and after the curse took over Mount Qaf, Behnâm became mad in his quest.[5]
Behnâm as the blind jailer carries the key to the prison under the Sacred Archives where he imprisons anyone who he catches.[6]
