Ferdos is a character in Prince of Persia: The Graphic Novel.

Biography[]

Ferdos is the only survivor of the boy children born under the prophecysed date in 13th century Marv. Her mother had a plan to save him, before the birth they cut a sheep's unborn baby out to swap for him. Birth went well, and the boy was handed to Nuri outside the house, but mother died after the birth. The guards who came to collect the baby believed the story that both are dead. Nuri used the old tunnel system in the wells to hide the kid. Nuri cared for and taught the kid all alone. Sometimes Ferdos visited the old palace and reenacted events from 9th century stories.[1]

Grown up he saw a person fall into a well, and saved her. He took her to old palace where he took off her wet clothes and dressed in Guilan's clothing. Ferdos told Shirin stories of old, and wanted to act them out with her even going as far as calling her Guilan. During the night Ferdos went for the daily routine of diverting some water. After some more stories, Ferdos wanted to show stars to Shirin and opened another waterway. They had fallen in love, and let the passion took over. Nuri came at night to see what has happened, as the redirection of water had been noticed. Nuri also brought a sword to Ferdos, as they might need it soon. They heard something and saw that Shirin overheard them. Shirin ran from them, but Ferdos caught her. They then tell Shirin all about the purge.[1]

When Shirin went back into the city, Ferdos decided to go after her. A peacock who had lived around the old palace suddenly turned into Turul and came with him. In the city the bird changed back to peacock, and guided Ferdos in the alleyways. It lead Ferdos to Shirin, who alongside Nuri had been captured by guards. Ferdos attacked the guards, but they bested him, Then Turul once again transformed and flew the guards away.[1]

Shirin decided to bring Ferdos and Nuri to the Arsalan's dancing school and reveled Ferdos to be the survivor of the slaughtered children. This reignited the gathered people's desire to overthrow the leaders as prophecysed. During the party in the palace, they sneaked in through the cave system in the wells. They captured the leaders, and demanded them to give up their power. However a horde of Mongols lead by Great Khan reached the gates at the same time and demanded the surrender of the city. Knowing they don't have power to fight anyone, Ferdos and others left. The Mongols were let into the city where the slaughtered anyone who they saw. Ferdos and Shirin sat on the crumbling thrones in the old palace and gathered people who had survived there.[1]
