Dirigible is a location for several levels in Prince of Persia 3D.

History[]

The dirigible is a giant flying hot-air device that looks somewhat like a jellyfish from a distance. The top consists of several large balloons filled with hot air to keep them afloat. Below that is a main platform that contains housing and engineering sections. Hanging from the main platform are many cargo boxes, platforms, and catwalks hanging from chains. The Prince starts off in this lower cargo section and must make his way to the control room near the top[1].

Prince stows away on the departing dirigible, and climbs towards to the top. Once at the top, a storm hits the dirigible, and it is caught on fire by the lightning strike. Prince climbs the last few levels, and fights Rugnor, causing him to fall. Prince tries to reach the Princess, but Rugnor return on a giant bird and snatches Princess away. Prince tries to swing to the bird but falls into the Floating Ruins[2].

Gameplay[]

PC[]

Dirigible is separated into 4 levels: Lower Dirigible 1, Lower Dirigible 2, Upper Dirigible, and Dirigible Final[2].

Dreamcast[]

Dirigible levels on Dreamcast have been considerably shortened: Lower Dirigible 2 is missing in it's entirety. Upper Dirigible is cut in half, as the lower platforming part is removed, leaving only the Aviary section. As the Floating Ruins are also removed in this version, the Dirigible cinematic drops the player straight into the Cliffs level[2].
