Desert Island is a an island somewhere near Persia in Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame.
History[]
300 years ago this island was still inhabited, but a great storm leveled the island. Some of the people hid in the underground volcanic caverns, but were trapped there. They died to starvation or fell victim to their own deathtraps, meant to keep their treasures safe. The skeletons of the people now haunt the caves[1].
After all those years, a Flying Carpet is still hidden inside the deep caverns. A Prince washed ashore during a shipwreck and found his way to the caverns, and to the Flying Carpet, which he used to escape the island[2].
Trivia[]
Desert Island was intended to be a copy-protection area with an ingame mechanic for opening a door with the help of a manual[3].
