Azadeh was the wife of King Darius and Queen of Persia.
Biography[]
Azadeh was a commoner living in Mount Qaf and had made a name for herself to be a fine herbalist. She heard that Darius had fallen ill. She searched weeks for the root of the illness, and when she thought she had figured it out she appeared at the castle and requested an audience with the King. At first she was denied entrance, but priests sensed something about her and allowed her to see the King. Azadeh spent weeks healing King Darius, after spending time next him and recount tales of her travels. The King regained his strength and had grown to love Azadeh in the time they spent together. The King married Azadeh and they both were loved by the people. Unfortunately Azadeh died giving birth to Vahram.[1]
