Astrabad is the city in Persia, and the main location for the events of Prince of Persia (1989).
History[]
Astrabad is ruled by Sultan of Astrabad. Osman the First sent the Sultan to fight barbarian invaders from the North. Sultan assigned his Grand Vizier Jaffar to rule while he is gone and to protect his daughter, the Princess.[1]
During that time the Grand Vizier Jaffar tried to take control of Astrabad, by marrying the Princess. The princess however had fallen in love with a street boy, so Jaffar gave her one hour to decide between marriage or death. The boy managed to escape the prison he was sent and kill Jaffar, and save the Princess.[2]
After Sultan returned to Astrabad, he offered the boy any reward he wants, but he wanted to marry the Princess. Although Sultan was against this at first, he allowed this after the Princess begged him.[3]
Trivia[]
- While being unnamed in the games, Astrabad name is mentioned in the Prince of Persia Sega Manual.[1]
