Asoka is a minor character in Prince of Persia: The sands of Time.[1] He acts as a man-servant and retainer to Princess Tamina.
Biography[]
Before the Sandstorm[]
As a child, Asoka was a slave to a cruel master. After several beatings, he ran away, and stole a horse on the market. On the road he met up with Tamina. They rode together briefly, but after a fight they once again rode separately, but still at each other eyesight. Asoka noticed the Khan's men and hid. They captured Tamina, but Asoka threw a spear he made and managed to free her, he then rode in on his horse and rescued Tamina. Having escaped the mongols, Asoka left the horse to Tamina, while he walked beside them. Fortunately they were found by soldiers sent by Tamina's father. Asoka was taken in by the people of Alamut and was trained as a soldier.[2]
Sands of Time[]
When the Persian army invaded Alamut, Princess Tamina entrusted Asoka with the duty of taking the Dagger of Time out of the city to safety. During the battle, he ran into Dastan and risked his life in a fight to keep the dagger from Dastan. Dastan defeated him and took the blade. Whether or not Asoka was killed at the time was never shown.[1]
When events are reset by the Grand Rewind, he is standing behind Princess Tamina with his arm in a sling, indicating that he was injured in his battle with Dastan and not killed.[1]
