Amir is an antagonist in Prince of Persia: The Graphic Novel.
Biography[]
After the old ruler Saman died, Amir was sent by the Caliph of Baghdad to take control of Marv without bloodshed. The Caliph wanted Layth be put on the throne instead of Saman's son. With the treat of war, Guiv reluctantly accepted.[1]
Amir stayed in Marv, and is now the general of armies for Layth. Layth's wife, the Princess Guilan has caught Amir's eye and he often flirts with her.[1]
Amir wants more water for his growing army, but Guilan denies the request. Amir constantly brings up Guiv's attempt to kill Layth to raise more security for the city, but both Layth and Guilan think it is not necessary. After the prophecy was made, for the rulers to fall, Amir used it to surround the palace with soldiers loyal to him. Amir killed Layth and wanted to marry Guilan. But once Guilan was brought before Amir, she grabbed a sword and killed herself. Amir declared himself the new ruler of Marv, and promised to catch the killers of the previous rulers. But people knew he was the killer and did not like him.[1]
Guiv returned and gathered the guards that were loyal to him, and attacked the palace. Amir instead of fighting, set the palace on fire. And it was that fire that lead to Amir's end, as his robes caught fire and he burned to death.[1]
