Today, December 14, 2017, {{Wiki|Federal Communications Committee|the Federal Communications Committee}}, under the advisement of former Verizon Lawyer, Ajit Pai, chose to repeal the {{Wiki|Barack Obama|then-President Barack Obama}} approved decision to protect {{Wiki|Net Neutrality}} by, "reclassifying broadband as a common carrier under Title II of the Communications Act of 1934 and Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996" ({{Wiki|Net Neutrality in the United States|source}}), which that kept the internet under government regulation (IIRC). The repeal was made in favor of catering to Corporate Lobbyists, who in turn, work in favor of the Major Internet Service Providers (ISPs), ''like'', but certainly not limited to, '''Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T.'''

The last step required is to get their repeal approved by Congress and made law is to go through Appeals Court. Already folk are coming out of the woodwork to sue the FCC for their decision.

Wikia as a website, relies on the community of people that relies on the internet to even contribute to their website. Without Net Neutrality, major ISPs can make simple recreational tasks like editing articles a near-impossibility, esp. for those on a seriously fixed income.

So, here's what you need to do if yo value the neutrality of the internet and all that it provides you, thanks to government regulation:

Just a heads up for future editors for red-linked pages like "The Sands of Time Trilogy" and "The Prince of Persia Trilogy".

These pages are meant to be a basic summary of the respective events that occurred in these trilogies. In other words, the articles should be formatted and feature description not unlike the Dragonball Wiki's Saga pages (i.e. Red Ribbon Army Saga or Imperfect Cell Saga).

Wikipedia page information has already been used and re-purposed in the Prince of Persia (series) article, which details the franchise information and history of the series, including the list of games, books and movies available under the Prince of Persia licenses.

So, Tuesday came with the unfortunate announcement that the bill (or what have you) that would allow Internet Service Providers to play the Slow Lane/Fast Lane game with websites in the name of money at the expenses of their users, was passed.

Almost immediately there were many, rightfully arguing against the decision and Wednesday more than a dozen or so petitions popped up in my haunts outside the Wikia and visiting the Wikia, even the staff is arguing against it (thank god). At this point, most of you have probably thrown in your lot with voting/fighting against it, I'm the same. No one, in my opinion, can afford an implement like this and sooner or later, it's going to be used to censor and block information, and violate rights of the internet users.

Hello, this is the administrator of the Prince of Persia Wiki speaking. Since as early as 2013, I've been trying to get this Wiki, that was established by Jaro7788 as far back as 2005 or earlier, up and running on its feet. Long story short, the place was a mess and full of fanon concerning Kaileena's relationship or things the Prince had actually done in either game trilogy.

I've been working slowly solo for good time, however, I've recently gained a lot of help from my co-admin, JayAaerow, who's been aiding in reorganizing and redecorating the Wiki as a whole. However, with so much left overs from the older establishment, it's going to take a little more than just two people with bureaucrat rights to get the place straight.

Series-specific Templates

Each Prince of Persia series has its own personalized character and navigation template. This is simply to create a visual difference between the three trilogies spawned from the franchise.

It goes without saying, that if you're editing an article pertaining to the Sands of Time video game canon use the following template:

1. Character Box (SOT Trilogy) If you're editing a character page for the 2008 Prince of Persia game, use the following template:

Objects and Weapons in Prince of Persia are extremely different from one another. Therefore, weapons that have been organized as "Objects", using the Template:Infobox_Object template, need to be reorganized with the template, Infobox_Weapons, which contains expanded details on weaponry stats and damage.

Deleting Categories

The Prince of Persia Wiki is presently bogged down with a lot of useless categories, all of which have been listed in the the Category:Candidates for deletion. On top of that, given that Categories cannot be renamed and merely redirect to the new name, deleting Categories is imperative.

• Sand Enemies = Sand Creatures (restricted to enemies from The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones). Enemies from the Forgotten Sands will be categorized under the Category "Sand Army Enemies" or "Haoma Enemies"

Articles needing Citation

From this point onward, no article can be published without proper citation and canonical content connected to the subject of the article. If you cannot find said information that will verify content of the article, please use the following template: {{Unsourced Material}}. For articles that require clean up use the {{Cleanup}} template.

Article Tabs

With regard to Character Articles, major character articles are sectioned up into sub pages using the {{Tab}} template. This template will allow article viewers to access easily all available subpages for each character article they are given to.

With particular regard to abilities sub pages, the articles themselves should not be written or formatted in a manner similar to the DC and Marvel Wikias. Instead the ability subpages should be written and formatted not unlike the Gameplay or Characteristics sub pages. so long as there is a "cleanup" template on the said sub pages and abilities and powers are still listed in bullet point format, the page will need to be reformated.

Canon resources

Canonized information on Prince of Persia is and has always been rather thin as far as the internet is concerned. Enemy names, locations and characters has either been misspelled or incorrect as a result. However, the biggest source of canon information besides the games themselves are the game's walkthrough guides by Bradley Games and Prima. If you own or happen to know where an accessible (and legal) copies of:

Please use whatever canonical information you have at the ready to improve articles where improvement is needed. The more incorrect information is removed from the Wiki, the better chances it can be a reliable source for PoP fans and causal browsers.

Walkthroughs

Prince of Persia has amassed a goodly amount of walkthrough created by users and official sources over the last ten plus years since 2003. The games debuted back when things like YouTube.com and Video Walkthroughs weren't either a): extremely popular or a means of revenue or b): didn't exist. However, the Prince of Persia Wiki would like to formally request that users who are adept at creating walkthroughs for Gaming Wikia help us create a solid walkthrough for every iteration of Prince of Persia. The task, much like the organization of the Wiki itself is daunting, and I wouldn't begrudge you for wanting to avoid it, however, as this is a gaming wiki aiming to provide concrete information on a video game series that relies heavily on strategy or combat, we'd like to at least try to create solid walkthroughs exclusive to the Wiki. Or, if you've created a Written and Visual Walkthrough before, are not against your sharing it with the Wiki, so long as it is your walkthrough or you've been given permission to do so.

Here at Prince of Persia Wiki, we strive to provide accurate and credible information in regards to Prince of Persia. While we're not in the least elitist, we do have guidelines on what a Wikia requesting affiliation should look like:

1. All Wikias have, or are in the process of getting, references and images must have proper legal tagging where applicable.
2. The wikia is active with users editing articles.
3. The wikia has a Manual of Style or something similar outlining how to write articles, what should and shouldn't be in them, etc.
4. Articles are, or are in the process of becoming, detailed with all relevant information.
5. The main page is neat and easily navigable. We are not requesting it to look like the Assasin's Creed Wiki, but it should look clean and navigational.
6. The wikia is not currently going under any upheavals such as changing admins.
7. The wikia has a clearly defined and well enforced policy.
8. The subject matter of the wiki is of similar substance (i.e. dealing with Ubisoft-related games, third person, platforming, puzzle games, etc.) to Prince of Persia Wiki.

When you make your request, use the thread's application forum below. If your application is accepted you will be added to the front page with the other partners.

• If your request is rejected, please see the reasons given in the vote to find out how you can improve the wiki so that your next request is approved.
• If there is bad history between one or more Wikias from other Admins and users with special privileges (example: bad blood that results in name calling, slurs and vandalism of the Wikias), the affiliation may not be accepted on the basis of maintaining peace within the admin circle and user base.
